The Society sponsored two excellent academic events in the fall of 2005.

In October it co-hosted a clinical meeting with the Capital District and Central New York State Dermatological Societies at the office of Dr. Judith Ann Mysliborski, our President-Elect, which included the showing of interesting cases and an excellent review of the new psoriatic therapies by Dr. Steven Cohen from Mt. Sinai in New York. Members also received an update on Medicare and Reimbursement Issues from Norma Border from the American Academy of Dermatology.

In November, we again joined with the Section of Dermatology of the New York Academy of Medicine for an update on the Clinical and Research aspects of Melanoma which was given by Dr. David Polsky and Dr. Russ Berman of New York University, and Dr. Ashtag Marghoob and Dr. Paul Chapman of Memorial Sloan Kettering Medical Center. Specifically, the distinguished faculty discussed current research and clinical findings on the following topics:
• Molecular Biology of Melanoma
• Diagnosis of Pigmented Lesions
• Surgery, Sentinel Nodes, Staging and Follow-Up
• Treatment of Advanced Disease.
